I have asked students to bring a copy of a photo of a family member who was involved in a war. This could be or soldier, nurse, or anyone else involved in a war effort. If you do not have any ancestors that you know of, you could use a friend or find a photo and bio online of a Canadian war hero. Please scan the photo, print it off, and send it to school. If you do not have access to a scanner or printer please send the photo to school and I can scan it here. Students will also need to bring some background information recorded about their chosen person. Full name, year they were born, relationship to student, position they served, war they were involved in, and interesting information or a story about them.
