Willy Wonka Play -Tuesday, November 21 

We will be traveling by chartered bus to attend this production at Holy Cross High School. We will be leaving the school at 8:45AM and returning by about 11:30AM.

We will be using the play to do a viewing strand in our Language Arts program. In order to access unique arts opportunities such as this, we ask that each student bring $2 to cover the cost of admission charged by the Holy Cross Drama Department. Your son/daughter can bring this to school as soon as possible.

Healthy Lifestyles Fieldtrip - Thursday, November 23 

We will be traveling by chartered bus to the 9th Annual Drug Awareness and Healthy Lifestyles Presentation at Prairieland Park.  There will be 15 guided stations to help grade 7 students understand what it means to live a healthy lifestyle (please see more info below). We will be leaving by 12:00pm and returning to the school by about 3:00pm. 

Our classes were asked to develop themed artwork on Saskatchewan Liquor Store bags.  The winner in each category will receive prizes and their work will be displayed at the Prairieland Exhibition in August 2018.  All other bags will be used throughout Saskatoon Liquor Store Outlets during the Christmas Season to promote the theme “Avoid a Crash, Don’t Get Smashed”.  Personal information is not included on the bag.

Please note that some of the information shown at the stations may be sensitive in nature but necessary to provide this healthy lifestyle information.  Students are asked to be respectful and participate to the best of their ability. Please have a conversation with your children about what they learned.  If you have any questions or concerns, please contact me.

Alpha is a series of interactive sessions that engages people in conversations about faith, life and Jesus. Every Alpha session includes a short talk and discussion. Alpha is being used by thousands of Catholic parishes in over 70 countries around the world. Alpha is also run by churches of many other denominations to introduce people to the life-changing message of Jesus Christ. This has led to more than 24 million people around the world experiencing Alpha. In particular, it is attracting many young people who are asking the question, ‘Is there more to life than this?’

WorldVuze Webcast

We're taking part in a live national webcast featuring 4-5 classrooms representing provinces across the country, in collaboration with the team at A Kids' Guide to Canada.

In partnership with WorldVuze, the webcast will be a showcase for how classrooms across the country have investigated the theme of "Canadian Identities", as part of The Next 150 discussions happening on WorldVuze this fall.

Our class will have the opportunity to present their findings or artifacts based on accomplishing this "Nightly News" activity, which prompts students to reflect and make sense of diverse points of view and experiences of their fellow Canadians.

While the discussions and perspectives can be found on WorldVuze, the artifacts created as a result of our student's investigations (in this case short videos) can be presented and displayed on A Kids' Guide to Canada, an interactive and multilingual guide to Canada produced by kids and for kids!
